Only a month after revealing the extraordinary Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm twins, the Italian company has revealed that the lucky customers who will get their hands on these vehicles will be able to have them in a variety of eye-catching liveries - all of which hark back to on-track successes enjoyed by Alfa GTAs of the past.
Prestigious liveries
These liveries come from the team at the Centro Stile department of Alfa Romeo and customers can not only go for one of them if they so wish, they can also have their own choice of number for the side decals, as well as a matching Goodwool car cover in the same pattern. And what patterns they are: the yellow nose on one livery is a nod to the 1971 European Touring Car Championship (ETCC)-winning car, while the asymmetrical nose details come from the 1965-1968 Sprint GTA and the symmetrical news from the GTA 1300 Junior.
Mind, if you're not a fan of driving down the street in a fully liveried-up racing replica, both the GTA and the GTAm will be available in the colours of the Italian national flag - not all at one, of course, but choose from GTA Red, Trophy White or Montreal Green. Further personalisation is possible by colouring the brake callipers, rollcage, seatbelts and stitching in a variety of different hues, and if you fancy a play on the configurator then you can head on over to gta.alfaromeo.com and torment yourself with the idea of actually owning one of these things once the coronavirus has sodded off.
Prices near €200k
Both the GTA and the even more intense GTAm are evolutions of the mighty Giulia Quadrifoglio, ramping its 2.9-litre biturbo V6 motor up to 540hp from the 'regular' 510hp. The GTA is 100kg lighter than the Quadri anyway, but the GTAm is even more outrageous, with its huge, rear hooped spoiler and stripped interior. We're highly unlikely to get any of the 1,000 worldwide examples (split evenly between the GTA and the GTAm) over here in Ireland, but just for reference the Italian prices of the cars are likely to be €176,500 for the GTA and €181,500 for the m. Those figures are placed into context when you realise the epic Quadrifoglio retails for around €100,000...
