Volkswagen says that it's re-opening its dealerships in Ireland not merely with extensive hygiene and social distancing practices, but also with some tempting offers for used car buyers.
4.9 per cent APR finance
Those include a 4.9 per cent APR PCP package for those looking to buy used cars, and Volkswagen is doubtless keen to snag those buyers who are trimming their car-buying budgets in the face of incoming straitened economic times.
Approved used programme
Volkswagen says that its new Approved Used programme "is designed to put consumers' minds at ease when they are considering purchasing a used Volkswagen. Not all used cars are treated equally, but when you buy a used Volkswagen through the official Volkswagen retailer network, they carry out more than a hundred individual quality checks to ensure you're driving Volkswagen Approved."
All of the approved used cars will come with a one-year warranty, one-year roadside assistance, a full history check, and - crucial right now - comprehensive sanitisation before they're handed over.
Inclusive servicing
As well as the 4.9 per cent finance package, Volkswagen is also going to offer an inclusive servicing package for these approved used cars, which will cost buyers €14.99 per month and which will cover two years' major servicing.
In order for people to feel safe when out shopping for a car, Volkswagen recently implemented: "a new Safer Measures initiative across their retailers which enhances the virtual and contactless experience in Volkswagen retailers and provides for enhanced safety measures. This initiative means customers can do more of their car shopping from the comfort of their own home and enjoy a safe and relaxed retail experience in their local showroom."
