Nardo in Italy is the home of real high speed thanks to its 12.6-kilometre banked circular circuit. No surprise then that BMW has been fine-tuning its new M5 saloon here and videoed the results for our delectation.
With only the merest hint of disguise to cover up the final looks of the next M5, the BMW thunders around the track with 310km/h showing on the speedo. There's also a hint at how the new twin-turbo V8 engine will sound and how quick the gearchanges will be with the M5's new double-clutch gearbox.
After teasing us for so long, BMW will finally unveil the finished M5 at the M Festival at the Nürburgring on 23-26 June. It will then make its official debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
