The Connolly Motor Group has created ten new job openings upon launching the new electric car brand, Ora, in Galway. Connolly Motor Group's ten new full-time employees bring the company's total headcount to 320 across its Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Donegal sites. It will begin recruiting immediately.
Ora is a Chinese marque of electric passenger cars by Great Wall Motor, one of China's oldest car manufacturers. Its new fully-electric vehicle, the Ora Funky Cat, has only recently been introduced to the Irish market.
Connolly Motor Group is one of three Ora dealers in Ireland and will cover the west of Ireland from a new showroom in Galway. The Connolly Motor Group invested €500,000 in this new showroom, located next to its existing location at Briarhill Business Park in Ballybrit, Galway. The showroom can accommodate up to six vehicles. There is also a customer reception area and individual sales offices.
The Ora Funky Cat comes in two models: the 300 Pro, which has a range of 310 kilometres, and the 400 Pro+, which has a range of 420 kilometres. You can charge both versions to 80 per cent capacity in about 48 minutes. Tech and safety features include facial and voice recognition, 360-degree parking cameras, wireless phone charging, massaging and heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.
Irish prices begin at €33,495.
Euro NCAP named the Ora Funky Cat best-in-class 2022 in the Small Family Car Category, and the car is now available to view, test drive and purchase at Connolly's in Galway.
