Volkswagen is 'Platinum' sponsor of Dublin Pride

VW says partnership with Dublin Pride embodies 'We Live Diversity' principle.

Volkswagen Ireland has announced that it is now a 'Platinum' level sponsor of the Dublin Pride Festival and will be part of the festival for the next three years.

Employee workshops

The announcement was - appropriately - made on the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. The sponsorship deal will include VW branding on Pride Festival material, as well as Volkswagen vehicles featuring in the main parade, attendance at the parade by Volkswagen Ireland staff and management, and employee workshops around LGBTQI awareness topics.

'Driven By Love'

Volkswagen Ireland has previously been a Gold level sponsor of the Pride Festival, and as part of the upgrade, will also launch a new campaign, 'Driven by love' which: "aims to bring awareness to the shared work and commitment of both Volkswagen Ireland and Dublin Pride to fostering a culture of diversity, equality and inclusion both in the workplace and in society as a whole."

The festival's main day takes place on Saturday, June 24th this year, and Volkswagen employees and models from the Volkswagen range will feature in both the parade and festival village at Merrion Square.

An environment of love

Speaking about the announcement, Alan Bateson, Director of Volkswagen Ireland said: "We are delighted once more to be partnering with Dublin Pride and strengthening our commitment as Platinum sponsors. A highlight of the partnership is where Volkswagen Ireland employees together with their friends and families will be marching as part of the parade, alongside colourful pride-branded models from our range. We look forward to our continued and ongoing partnership with Dublin Pride as we work together to create an environment of love, diversity, equality and inclusion that we can be all proud of."

Needless to say, VW's electric ID range will be to the fore when it comes to the parade and the displays at the festival village in Merrion Square.
