Peugeot teases exterior of new e-3008

Peugeot is teasing new e-3008 as part of #CAMOCATCH competition.

Peugeot has challenged the public to photograph its upcoming e-3008 crossover during its final development stages - revealing much of the car's exterior in the process.

"Ordinarily, prototypes are hidden and do everything to escape public scrutiny," said the firm. "The new e-3008, however, is on display and involving the general public in its launch."

First look

The car's exterior employs many design cues seen on most modern crossover SUVs. However, the e-3008 also features a sloping roof to the rear, fitting into the "coupe-SUV" niche already occupied by the recently launched Peugeot 408.

The 3008 prototype is fitted with glossy black wheels with aerodynamic creases and detailing and it is expected to feature the latest iteration of Peugeot's badge, revealed in 2021, intended to hark back to the Peugeot emblem of the 1960s.

The e-3008 is likely based on Stellantis' eVMP platform, built to support the Group's range of pure electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

The platform is essentially a thoroughly reworked version of the existing EMP2 frame - brought up-to-date to keep the new 3008's development costs down.

The e-3008 will be fully unveiled in September after final testing and development on European roads this summer.

#CAMOCATCH

The #CAMOCATCH promotion started back in May when Peugeot asked the public to vote on three new camouflages for the e-3008, with "Street Art", "Optical Art" and "Prototype" themes being voted for in the end.

The chosen camouflages were eventually produced in June and applied to the e-3008s that will take to the roads this summer.

Social media users are encouraged to photograph the camouflaged e-3008s and upload the image to Facebook or Instagram between July 15 and August 15 with the hashtag #CAMOCATCH and the @peugeot tag.

Each camouflaged e-3008 will also have a QR code printed on its body, which can be scanned to take you to the #CAMOCATCH website.

Six winners will then be chosen from a prize draw - with the prize being an invitation to test drive the e-3008 during the official press drives in 2024.
