McNally Motors gets Toyota Ichiban award

The Ichiban Award recognises customer service excellence in Toyota's dealers.

Longford-based Toyota dealership McNally Motors has been awarded Toyota Motor Europe's coveted Ichiban award, recognising "its commitment to providing the highest levels of excellence and memorable customer service."

"On behalf of Toyota Ireland, we'd like to congratulate McNally Motors on its achievement," said Steve Tormey at Toyota Ireland. "We're thrilled that the team is being awarded for its amazing work and dedication to customer service."

"The Ichiban Awards are highly coveted and it's fantastic to see an Irish dealership recognised as one of the best retailers for outstanding customer service in Europe."

Ichiban Awards

The Ichiban Awards are handed out annually by Toyota Motor Europe to "spotlight dedication to customer service, retail innovation and creating a memorable experience for customers."

Over 2,500 European Toyota dealers compete for the award each year, with only a small number deemed worthy of the recognition.

Previous Irish winners include Kelly's Toyota in Letterkenny, which scooped the award in 2021 - recognised amongst 43 other Toyota dealers from 32 European countries.

The event is one of the most important on Toyota's calendar, acknowledging the important role of dealers in the brand's supply chain.

Matt Harrison, chief operating officer at Toyota Motor Europe, said: "Toyota retailers are our key partners and brand ambassadors and we will continue to work together as one team to transform our challenges into opportunities."

McNally Motors

Founded in 1962 by Tom McNally, the dealership was originally located in the nearby town of Lanesborough on the banks of the River Shannon. Tom's son Paul and his wife Aine manage the dealership today.

The Toyota brand was brought to Ireland in 1972 by Dr Tim Mahony, also known for his sponsorship deals with the GAA and Munster rugby teams. McNally Motors was made a Main Toyota Dealer in 1973 - the business was moved to the town of Longford in 1976.

"It's an amazing achievement to be awarded the Ichiban Award," said Paul McNally. "Respect, dedication and customer service were at the heart of McNally Motors when it was founded over 60 years ago and remain just as important today."

"We make it our mission to ensure every customer who comes into us is given all the time, energy and support they need. Whether they're looking to buy or sell a car, need a service or want to know more about a new model, we're always on hand to help."
