Ohme, the Cork-based home charging specialist, has linked up with Polestar to provide home charging solutions for customers of the high-performance and electric Volvo spinoff.
67 per cent saving
It's not just a matter of fitting a recommended charger when you buy a new Polestar EV, either. Ohme claims that using its unique software, the chargers can help top up your batteries when the cost of electricity is at its lowest and can do so automatically. Ohme reckons that Polestar drivers can save as much as 67 per cent on their home charging using this setup if they're charging a Polestar 2 Long range Single motor with a 78kWh battery.

Polestar currently sells the Polestar 2 fastback saloon in Ireland, with a starting price of €53,635 and a potential range of 551km. However, that will be updated shortly with a new rear-wheel drive model with a potential range of up to 650km. That will be followed by the high-performance Polestar 3 luxury SUV in 2024, with a potential 601km range, and then we'll see the dramatic, low-slung Polestar 4 crossover, which boasts up to 544hp and a range of 600km.
