Toyota will reveal a facelifted Avensis at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week (September 13).
We only have a relatively dark teaser image to go by so far, but it's clear that the Japanese firm's D-segment model is in line for a new, more aggressive front end. The changes aren't radical, but they're significant enough to bring the Avensis into line with the rest of Toyota's current range.
There have also been internal changes - Toyota claims that the appearance and quality of the cabin have been improved but further detail is reserved for the official unveiling. The same goes for the engines and chassis. We're told that there will be improvements, but we don't know what just yet.
In addition to the revised Avensis, Toyota will also have the previously-unveiled Prius plug-in hybrid and the seven-seat Prius+ on its stand.
The yet-to-be-unveiled three-door Toyota Yaris will also make an appearance, as will a facelifted version of the Hilux pickup.
