Volkswagen is celebrating 75 years in Ireland, both making and selling cars. Let’s not forget that in 1950, a VW Beetle was built from a CKD kit of parts on the Shelbourne Road in Dublin - the first Beetle ever to be assembled outside of Germany (Volkswagen still has that car in its museum and you can see our video all about it here: The first Volkswagen Beetle built outside Germany.
Zero per cent interest Hire Purchase
As part of those birthday celebrations, Volkswagen Ireland is introducing some special offers for the upcoming 251 registration period, headlined by a zero per cent interest Hire Purchase finance offer across the entire range, from the Polo to the Tiguan, from the Golf to the all-electric ID.4 and ID.7.
A recovery in EV sales?
Speaking of all-electric, Volkwagen Ireland seems confident that the drop off in electric car sales in Ireland is but a temporary blip, and that we’ll start to see a recovery soon. Indeed, the company says that it’s: “already preparing for an extremely successful year in the EV market for 2025.”
Edition 75 and R-Line 75 models
As well as the zero per cent interest finance offer, VW Ireland will also mark its 75 years with some special edition models. There will be an Edition 75 based on the Golf, Tiguan, and T-Roc, and a sportier R-Line 75 for the Polo, Taigo, T-Roc, and Tiguan.
New Tayron coming soon
Speaking on the announcement, Alan Bateson, Director of Volkswagen Ireland said: “It is a huge privilege to be at the helm of this incredibly iconic and much loved brand as it celebrates 75 years in Ireland. As we look to the future we are steadfast in our commitment to driving sustainable mobility for all.
