New Toyota Land Cruiser lands in Ireland next year

Commercial and passenger Toyota Land Cruiser models will arrive in Ireland before mid-2025.

Toyota Ireland has confirmed that the new Land Cruiser, complete with its cool retro styling, will go on sale in Ireland before the middle of 2025.

How much for the new ‘Cruiser?

Order books have opened for the new Land Cruiser, and Irish buyers can reserve a new commercial model, with prices starting at €69,990, or a new passenger model, with prices starting at a significantly higher €140,830.

It’s the first all-new Land Cruiser to arrive in the Irish market for 15 years, so the anticipation is pretty high and Toyota is already advising potential customers to get orders in early.

What engine does it have?

The new ‘Cruiser comes initially with the same 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine as you’d find in the Hilux pickup truck, and that’s paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and, of course, selectable four-wheel drive. Hybrid options will be added in the coming years.

What about new technology?

New-fangled stuff for old Land Cruiser fans includes lane-keeping steering and electric power steering assistance. There’s also a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, voice recognition control, and adaptive cruise control. None of which would be familiar to anyone who remembers the classic FJ70 model…

It’s still tough, though. Right?

Oh yes. Of more potential use to such traditional Land Cruiser buyers is a 3,500kg towing weight - matching that of the Hilux - and a roomier cabin with the option of seven seats for the passenger version.

Ahead of the arrival of the new Land Cruiser, Zoë Bradley, Head of Marketing Communications and Corporate Affairs in Toyota Ireland said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing the first all-new Land Cruiser in 15 years to Ireland in 2025. We previewed it at this year’s Ploughing Championships, where throngs of very eager potential customers lined-up to pay homage to the rugged and reliable icon, so we’re confident this new model will be hugely popular and will build upon the already legendary status of the Land Cruiser journey. Because of the expected high demand, we are encouraging people to visit their nearest Toyota dealership to discuss payment options and reserve the new model early to avoid disappointment.”
