Kia has released images of its upcoming city car, the all new Ray. Designed to be sold exclusively in the Korean manufacturer's home market the new car bears more than a passing resemblance to the Soul crossover, but only smaller.
Wearing the new Kia signature 'tiger' grille the tall roofed hatchback is said to have a roomy, versatile passenger compartment and is easily manoeuvrable in tight parking spaces. All seems remarkably normal doesn't it? That is until you notice the rear doors.
On the driver's side the rear door opens as you would expect it to but on the passenger side is a van-like sliding affair. Kia said it designed the Ray's rear doors to allow easier entry and exit in tight parking spaces but also to give the little Ray added versatility thanks to a wide, unobstructed side opening.
No word yet on engine, prices or even an expected launch date but all will be revealed in time. Not that anyone cares in this part of the world...
