Since debuting in 2009 the Chevrolet Cruze has sold over one million examples across the world, and now it's made it even more appealing thanks to the addition of a new Station Wagon model.
Next month's Geneva Motor Show will be the first public unveiling of the new Wagon. Load space starts at 500 litres with the seats in place and rises to just under 1,500 litres with the rear bench folded flat. Slightly larger than the saloon and hatchback it's based on, the Station Wagon still retains their sense of style with the bold Chevrolet grille and tapering roofline.
The Wagon will also showcase a new engine for the Cruze range: a 1.7-litre VCDi diesel with 132hp. Benefitting from standard stop-start expect it to be super-frugal, and it emits only 119g/km of CO2 emissions.
The engine isn't the only change for 2012 though, as the range will benefit from a host of other improvements. Outside there's a revised front with more intricate headlamps and fog lamp detailing, as well as a range of new wheel designs. Inside, the centre console comes in for some improvement and the seats benefit from upholstery changes.
There's still no word on the Cruze being sold officially in Ireland.
