ESB ecars looks to have come up with a way for owners of electric cars to combat range anxiety. Thanks to the new ecar connect app, available for iPhone and Android, owners will no longer have to drive around blindly wondering where the next charging point is. Once downloaded the app can provide information on charge point locations, navigation if required and can tell whether the selected charge point is a standard or fast charge unit.
The app is more than just an emergency device though as it will allow EV owners to pre-plan their journeys with information on all the charging points in the country right there in their pocket/purse etc. The app also provides users with the latest news from ESB ecars including the rollout of charging infrastructure.
In time the ability to see real-time information about whether the selected charge point is in use or not and the ability to reserve a charge point ahead of time is likely to be included.
To download the ecar connect app search for 'ecar connect' in the Apple store or Android market.
