With 1,427 cars sold in February Volkswagen has been confirmed as the top-selling marque in Ireland for the month of February. The announcement comes on the back of latest figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) that showed the German powerhouse was just ahead of Toyota's 1,415 sales and the 1,128 racked up by Ford.
Commenting on the results, Volkswagen's Sales and Marketing Manager John Donegan said, "We are delighted with the sales results for February and to be the top-selling brand and with several key new models yet to be released we would hope to carry this momentum further into 2012. We launch the Volkswagen up! this month and that, we believe will be a game-changer in the small car segment."
With 477 units sold, accounting for over a third of all sales, the Golf was the top seller for Volkswagen ahead of the Passat and Polo.
