This year's Tokyo Toy Show will see the unveiling of Toyota's latest concept, the Camette. The firm has no plans to put the Camette into production though, as it is designed solely to promote cars to our future drivers.
Externally, the Camette's body is fully customisable with body panels that can be removed easily in exchange for others, which are available in different colours and designs. The exhibition will see the Camette displayed in two guises: a family-car based Camette 'Sora', and a more utilitarian Camette 'Daichi'.
Inside there is seating for three in a 1+2 formation; and both the seats and pedals are fully adjustable. This will allow children to sit up-front to use the car's controls whilst being supervised and guided by adults on either side.
The simplicity of the design is to 'give parents and children the chance to become more familiar with the workings of motor vehicles,' according to Toyota. 'The '1+2' configuration will create an intimate family driving space, maximizing parent-child communication.'
The 2012 International Tokyo Toy Show is open to the public on 16th June.
