What's the news?
Extra equipment and special paint for amplified versions of the Audi A1 range. Offered in red or white customers can choose amplified, amplified plus or - for the most powerful A1s only - amplified advanced. Audi has not yet confirmed whether these versions will be coming to Ireland.
Exterior
High gloss black paint is used on the roof line, rear spoiler and door mirrors. A matt transparent film is applied to the bonnet, roof and rear hatch, while the 17-inch alloy wheels feature black inserts. Plus versions also come with aerodynamic body accessories in body colour, LED tail lights and a gloss black rear diffuser that incorporates matt black exhaust tail pipes (a single pipe for less powerful A1s). Top versions are distinguished by 18-inch alloys, a high gloss black finish for the aerodynamic parts and Xenon headlamps.
Interior
Body colour detail is applied to the air vent sleeves in amplified versions; along with colour coordinated stitching on the black sports seats. The piping on the floor mats also matches the stitching; Parade Red for the red version, Rock Grey for the amplified white. The amplified plus gets more body colour - on the centre console and interior mirror housing. It also features stainless steel pedals and LED interior lighting. The A1 amplified advanced shares the interior features of the S line sport package. This includes leather sports seats with contrasting red or silver stitching. The seat back shells are painted either red or white.
Mechanicals
The amplified versions are available with the whole range of engines. The only exception is the top, amplified advanced package - this comes only with engines that develop more than 122hp.
Anything else?
Audi doesn't quote any change in performance or fuel consumption figures for the special edition versions, though as yet we don't know if they're coming to Ireland.
