Electric Golf to come to Ireland

ESB ecar 'Fully Charged' electric vehicle summit will see the Volkswagen Golf Blue-eMotion make its first appearance in Ireland.

Volkswagen will show its first electric vehicle, the Golf Blue-eMotion, at the ESB ecar's Fully Charged International EV Summit in Dublin.  The Golf's appearance is a prelude to the launch of an electric vehicle in Volkswagen's Irish model range next year.

ESB ecar's summit takes place on 11th July.  An international panel of speakers will provide delegates with an insight into the latest electric vehicle developments.  In addition a selection of the newest EVs will be showcased.

The Fully Charged event is the latest stop on Volkswagen's international roadshow.  Visiting eight European countries - and Japan - the show aims to introduce 'electromobility' to customers.  There will be the opportunity to test drive the electric Golf, described by the manufacturer as placing the latest electric vehicle technology in a vehicle trusted by motorists for generations.

After its appearance at the summit the Golf Blue-eMotion will tour Volkswagen dealerships around Dublin.  More details can be found on the Facebook page www.facebook.com/VolkswagenIRL.
