Opel is gunning for the Audi A5 Cabriolet with its new drop top. Shown here in teaser images the Cascada takes its name from the Spanish for waterfall.
At 4.7 metres long the new Cascada is over 70mm longer than the Audi A5 and features a full length fabric roof that can be opened or closed at speeds of up to 50km/h.
The move into the mid-size segment marks a departure for Opel, which has enjoyed success with its Astra based drop tops for years.
With the new Adam set to take centre stage at the upcoming Paris Motor Show the Cascada will have to wait for its public debut, but Opel promises more information will arrive soon, ahead of the car going on sale early next year.
