It may look like the screensaver on your computer, but this is the new McLaren supercar, or at least a teaser of it. The sports car maker has announced it will unveil its 'next exciting chapter' at the Paris Motor Show.
That 'exciting chapter' is expected to be the spiritual successor to the legendary McLaren F1, a car tentatively called the P12 by the motoring press. Exact details are scant but it is expected the concept will be powered by a tuned version of the MP4-12C's 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 and an F1-inspired KERS system. Similar systems are said to be used in the next generation of supercars from rivals Ferrari and Porsche.
For the moment the unnamed concept will 'showcase future plans' of McLaren but we would not be too surprised if, after the unveiling on September 27, the factory begun to take orders.
