Anybody can win races in Forza or Gran Turismo, but what do you think your chances are away from the console? Thanks to Mondello Park's 'Become a Racing Driver' competition you could find out.
Now entering its third year the competition aims to unearth talented novice drivers and so is only open to drivers who have not previously held a race licence. The prize for the eventual winner is a fully funded season in Formula Sheane with a fully prepared car, €1,500 worth of race-wear, all race and testing fees paid and expert coaching from the experienced team at Mondello Park and Sheane Cars of Wicklow.
Previous winners of the competition include Sean Hynes, who is currently third in the championship, and Timmy Swail, who heads into the Leinster Trophy weekend aiming to add his name to a list of winners that includes Ayrton Senna.
To enter drivers must have a full driving licence and have completed a Mondello Park Motor Racing School course. Once they have a race school experience under their belt they are then eligible to purchase a Become a Racing Driver entry for €235.
