Kia is set to debut its all-new Carens compact MPV at the Paris Motor Show next week. Although initial information on the new model is limited, we are told that it marks a big step forward for Kia's MPV range.
Visually, there is a dramatic improvement from the outgoing model. In place of the existing Carens' rather boxy front end lies a much sharper and sleeker look; thanks to Kia's 'tiger' grille and headlight design. The new Carens also offers a much sportier profile thanks to its larger, tapered windscreen, a slightly sloping roofline and a small spoiler above the rear window. Kia has also given the new model styling lines on the front bumper and doors to further boost the car's appearance.
"The new Carens is family-friendly and versatile," says Hyoung-Keun Lee, Vice Chairman and CEO of the Kia Motors Corporation. "It features a more athletic and dynamic design, and brings the model in line with Kia's distinctive current design direction."
As yet, no details have been released regarding interior styling, engine availability or price; but we expect that Kia will reveal more information on the model at the same time as the all-new pro_cee'd - a car also making its world premiere in Paris.
Other Kia models being featured are the updated Optima Hybrid saloon and the upgraded Sorento SUV; both of which are making their European debuts at the show.
