Mazda CX-5's big brother gets a makeover

Aussie launch for Mazda's biggest SUV, the CX-9.

What's the news?
Mazda will launch the updated CX-9 at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney on 18th October. The CX-9 is the company's flagship SUV although it is not sold in Ireland.

Exterior
At the front and rear the CX-9 adopts Mazda's 'KODO - Soul of motion' design philosophy. The headlamps are slimmer and the grille is deeper with a chrome lower lip.

Interior
The interior has been revised to give an enhanced impression of quality and refinement. On-board information, navigation and entertainment systems feature speech recognition. Safety systems include Forward Obstruction Warning and Lane Departure Warning.

Mechanicals
As before a 3.7-litre V6 petrol engine is fitted; combined with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Anything else?
Mazda will also show the new Mazda6 and updated MX-5 in Sydney; both models appearing in Australia for the first time.
