Alfa Romeo's rival to the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf, the Giulietta, goes on sale shortly in Ireland and prices have been announced ahead of its launch.
The Giulietta starts at just €19,995 for the 1.4 120hp Turismo model, which includes air conditioning and electric windows.
Despite the relative lack of equipment, this version of the Giulietta boasts significantly more power than its entry-level rivals: there is 85hp on offer from the 1.2-litre TSI Volkswagen Golf and the cheapest Ford Focus is a 90hp diesel.
Further specifications and engines are available with the next specification grade up being the Veloce. Here you get 17-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension, sports leather steering wheel and leather and microfiber upholstery amongst other items.
Other petrol engines include the 170hp MultiAir unit - which starts at €26,995 - and the 235hp Cloverleaf high-performance version. If diesel is more your thing, then you can choose between a 1.6-litre with 105hp and a 2.0-litre with 170hp. Prices start at €21,995 for the 1.6-litre and €27,570 for the 2.0-litre.
In terms of tax bands, the 1.4-litre 120hp petrol model is in Band C, the 1.4-litre 170hp MuiltiAir model is in Band B, the 235hp Cloverleaf version is in Band E and for the diesels, the 1.6-litre 105hp Giulietta is in Band A while the 2.0-litre 170hp variant is in Band B.
