Fiat revises next year's prices

2013 could spell savings for those buying a new Fiat.

Fiat Ireland has revealed its prices for 2013; many of which have been reduced from the current pricing strategy.

Of the three cars mentioned by Fiat, the model representing one of the biggest savings is the Punto. The entry-level price for a five-door model has been dropped by a fairly substantial €1,800 - from €15,295 to €13,495. As well as slashing the price Fiat has cut the model range from 11 to just three versions. The 85hp TwinAir model still remains and features the same saving as the base-spec, coming to market next year from €14,495. The third model is the five-door diesel where prices have remained the same.

The Fiat 500 has had a similar treatment of reduced prices and variants as its bigger brother. Four derivatives remain in the line-up, with heavy emphasis on the TwinAir engines. Base-level 500s start at a lower €12,495; and the 500C cabriolet can be had from €15,495. The biggest surprise however, is the 500 TwinAir; as Fiat has dropped the price by a massive €3,250, to just €13,495.

The Fiat Panda has remained fairly unchanged for 2013; but a naturally-aspirated, 85hp TwinAir engine joins the range. The latest model will sit underneath the TwinAir Turbo, and will represent a €500 saving over the turbocharged version. The new 4X4 Climbing model will also join the Panda range in 2013.

All these changes have been announced despite uncertainty surrounding the government's plans to revise VRT, road tax and licence plates next year. However, Adrian C. Walsh, Managing Director of FIAT Group Automobiles Ireland says, "No matter what the 2013 Budget throws at us in December, Fiat will be ready."
