Volkswagen Retailer, Kevin Connolly, has been presented with the Diamond Pin Award for service to the Volkswagen brand at a prestigious ceremony at the manufacturer's factory in Wolfsburg, Germany.
The Diamond Pin is the highest honour that Volkswagen can bestow on a dealer with only one dealer per country, per year, selected and they must already hold the Gold Pin award for dealer excellence to be nominated.
Connolly, who operates outlets in Ballina, County Mayo and in Sligo, was presented with the award by Xavier Chardon, Head of Sales Europe for the Volkswagen Passenger Car Brand. Afterwards Connolly said: "I'm thrilled to have been awarded a Diamond Pin, it's a huge honour."
"I really enjoy my job and the motor business, so that brings its own rewards, but being surrounded by a great team makes the job more enjoyable and ultimately more successful so this is as much an award for them as it is for me."<br />John Donegan, Deputy Brand Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars Ireland, said: "Kevin thoroughly deserves this award after more than 20 years in the business and for consistently delivering outstanding results."
"In particular Kevin showed a dramatic improvement in terms of finance penetration in the dealership and this, along with the satisfaction rating of his customers means he is a worthy recipient of what is Volkswagen's highest honour."
