Company merger boosts jobs

E-drive Solutions and Universal Graphics join forces to create 40 jobs.

Driver safety and fleet solutions provider E-drive Solutions announced this week that it is merging with Universal Graphics, a specialist branding company, to create the E-drive Group.  The merger will create 40 new jobs including engineering, customer services and graphic design positions.

Currently 62 people are employed by the group, with offices in Waterford, Monaghan and London.  Products include communications equipment and collision warning systems for commercial fleets as well as fleet branding.

Over the next three years E-drive Group plans to double its turnover to €10 million.  One area of growth is expected to be the supply of 'black box' telematics devices to fleets and insurance companies.  Already the company has invested €1.3 million in equipment, IT systems and training.  E-drive Group has attained the 3M MCS warranty partner status - the only Irish-based company to do so.

Mervyn O'Callaghan, CEO of E-drive Group commented: "Combining our driver safety and vehicle technology expertise at E-drive Solutions with the award-winning expertise of the branding specialists at Universal Graphics made perfect business sense. Our individual teams were delivering and servicing the same cohort of clients so combining our services into a 'one-stop shop' solution offers unrivalled cost and resource efficiencies, which is exactly what our clients want."
