Subaru's Vision GranTurismo Concept teased

Subaru announces insane looking concept for Gran Turismo 6.

What's the news?
Subaru has teased the automotive and gaming worlds with this image of a new concept car that is destined to appear on Gran Turismo 6 early in 2014. The new model is called the Vision GranTurismo Concept and it's what happens when a design team is allowed to create a car without any limitations.

The outrageous machine that's been teased appears to be based on the BRZ with its long bonnet and low roofline; however, the back of the car makes it look more 'shooting-brake' than coupé. Couple this to the extreme body kit and racing-style rear wing and the result is a car that wouldn't necessarily look out of place in a WTCC line-up. The model has officially been created purely for use in the game; however, these things do occasionally end up becoming real-life cars.

The idea behind creating a concept purely for a racing game is not a new one; and Gran Turismo veterans will have been pounding these computerised visions around virtual circuits for many years. For Gran Turismo 6, however, competition has grown stronger. Mercedes-Benz was the first manufacturer to create a Vision GranTurismo Concept for the game; a model that will now be turned into a real-life vehicle thanks to a private American company. Next to follow suit was Toyota; bringing the potential successor to the Supra into the virtual world. It can only be hoped that Subaru is thinking towards the future with the creation pictured here.

Anything else?
The Subaru Vision GranTurismo Concept will join the massive roster of cars on Gran Turismo 6 via a free download pack that has been created to celebrate 15 years of the video game series.
