What's the news?
The National Ploughing Championships has once again selected Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles as official vehicle sponsors for what has become the de facto Irish motor show. Now in its 83rd year the Ploughing Championships will take place from the 23 September at Ratheniska, Stradbally in County Laois.
Running for four days the event is expected to attract 1,100 exhibitors and close to 200,000 visitors. As official motoring sponsor, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will provide a fleet of Amarok 4x4 pick-ups and a Caddy Van equipped with 4Motion four-wheel drive to support the championship's on- and off-road transportation needs.
"We are delighted to be returning once again as official Vehicle Sponsor of this year's National Ploughing Championships," said Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Managing Director, Alan Bateson. Our 4 x 4 'Farm Ready' model line-up is right at home at the Ploughing Championships."
"This year we will also showcase our support for Irish agriculture with the launch of an unbeatable 0% agri-finance product which offers the agricultural community access to finance on our vehicles at no cost, in comparison to a rate of up to 12% APR from high street banks."
Anything else?
Anna May McHugh, National Ploughing Association Managing Director, said: "The Volkswagen vehicles will prove to be a huge addition for the off-road preparations and site works that will take place on upwards of 700 acres, and during the event week they will provide a vital link between exhibition, competitions, demonstrations and car parks."
