What's the news?
The new CX-3 compact SUV, designed to sit alongside the CXs 5 and 9 in the Mazda range, will be revealed by its parent company at the Los Angeles Auto Show at the end of November - and this is the first official image of it, albeit just a teasing design sketch at this stage.
The Mazda 2-based CX-3 uses the latest SkyActiv engines, most likely the 1.5-litre units in both petrol and diesel formats, and features the Kodo 'Soul of Motion' design language seen on all new Mazdas. It's expected to be a rival for Nissan's popular Juke, so think a compact urban style piece with SUV leanings.
Anything else?
America will get to see the new MX-5 for the first time at the same event, with the roadster getting the SkyActiv-G 2.0-litre petrol engine only; no puny 1.5 for the Yanks.
