Land Rover Discovery Sport prices announced

Seven-seat Discovery Sport will start from €37,100.

What's the news?

Land Rover Ireland has announced pricing for the new Discovery Sport, the sort-of-not-really replacement for the Freelander that is due to arrive in showrooms nationwide from January.

The new Sport will start from €37,100 for a 2.2-litre TD4 S model rising to €66,300 for the range topping HSE Luxury model powered by the 2.2-litre SD4 engine with an automatic transmission. Sitting between the two will be SE models (available from €43,560) and HSE (available from €49,795). The Disco Sport is unique in its class for being the only premium compact SUV to offer a 5+2 seat layout - cars like the Nissan X-Trail and Hyundai Santa Fe can rival the seating capcity, but not the badge kudos.

Arriving later in 2015, a more efficient ED4 diesel engine will join the range, offering CO2 emissions from 119g/km.

Anything else?

Eddie Kavanagh, General Manager, Land Rover Ireland commenting on the pricing announcement said: "The Discovery Sport is very competitively priced at €37,100. As you would expect from a Land Rover, it offers supreme versatility with a very generous and adaptable load space in the option 5+2 seating. And with Land Rover's Terrain Response technology, it has been engineered to meet any challenge. We're confident the Discovery Sport will be a big hit with our customers, both old and new, and we look forward to welcoming them to dealer showrooms in the coming weeks."
