What's the news?
Order books have opened across Ireland for the Volkswagen Golf Estate and the load lugger carries a €1,000 premium over the five-door Golf hatchback. This puts the entry-level Golf Estate - a Trendline 1.2-litre TSI petrol model with 85hp and a five-speed manual gearbox - into the market at €22,280.
Trim and engine choices will be carried over from the hatchback line-up, meaning the popular 110hp 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine in Comfortline trim will set buyers back €26,740, while the 150hp 2.0-litre TDI Highline model (the only specification it is offered in) starts at €31,910 - the DSG gearbox brings the price up to €33,920.
Anything else?
The Golf Estate is available from €299 per month on PCP finance thanks to the existing offer on the Golf range so buyers can get into the 605-litre load lugger (1,620 litres with the seats folded) for €50 more than a comparable hatchback. Full details are available on www.volkswagen.ie.
