Renault gets ready for Geneva

Renault readies Kadjar and new Renaultsport model for Geneva Motor Show.

What's the news?

Renault has announced its plans for the Geneva Motor Show, which is less than two weeks away. We know the Kadjar crossover will be launched but that's not the only announcement in the pipeline for 3rd March when the show opens.

The Zoe gets a new electric motor but we're more interested in the new Renaultsport model. We're expecting a Twingo Renaultsport with a more powerful version of the existing 0.9-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged engine. It isn't possible to fit a larger motor because of the Twingo's rear-engined architecture. Power output probably won't match that of the old Twingo Renaultsport but rumours are that it will have between 110- and 120hp.

As far as looks go, it is possible some of the styling cues from the Twin'Run concept will be adopted. Spy shots of the prototypes show lowered suspension, larger wheels and a new exhaust system.

Anything else?

It is ten years since the Dacia brand was re-launched and a limited-edition anniversary model will be announced to mark the occasion.
