What's the news?
Skoda has announced that it will be launching the second generation of the Fabia Monte Carlo in Ireland this July, for less than €19,000 - and it won't just be available as a five-door hatchback, but as a Combi estate too.
Monte Carlo Skodas are a little sportier in both looks and specification compared to the models on which they are based. The first Monte Carlo arrived in Ireland in 2011 as part of the previous, second-generation Fabia range; the Citigo Monte Carlo followed it last year.
The new Fabia Monte Carlo will be available with either 16- or 17-inch black alloy wheels, optional sports suspension, black exterior design elements with 'SunSet' tinted rear glass, a panoramic glass roof, leather three-spoke sports steering wheel and a unique design of sports seats, among other toys.
Final pricing and the full specification of the Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo will be announced closer to the summer on-sale date.
Anything else?
Raymond Leddy, Head of Marketing and Product for Skoda, Ireland said: "The Monte Carlo range has been very successful for us here in Ireland as customers increasingly look to individualise their vehicles while maintaining value. The Fabia Monte Carlo provides economy and fuel efficiency while giving the sense of a performance car from a higher price bracket."
