Mission: Possible for BMW M3

BMW’s high performance M3 gets starring role in latest Tom Cruise film.

What's the news?

BMW is once again going to be a part of the Mission: Impossible film franchise, after supplying cars for the latest instalment in the cinematic series.

BMW previously collaborated with Paramount on the 2011 flick Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and has now provided a BMW M3 and S 1000 RR motorbike for Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation. The film - starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt and co-starring Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson and Sean Harris - sees the Impossible Mission Force (IMF) being hunted down by a highly trained team of rogue agents.

So, in a car chase, the thing you want most of all is a BMW M car with 431hp and 550Nm, with which you can knock bad guys off their bikes...

Anything else?

"We are delighted to again be a part of one of the most exciting action film franchises in movie history," said Ian Robertson, member of the BMW AG board responsible for Sales and Marketing. "Dynamic performance and BMW ConnectedDrive make our BMW models the perfect cars for Ethan Hunt and his team, who use the vehicles' ground-breaking functions and cutting-edge technology to make sure the good guys come out on top. The BMW M3 combines motorsport DNA with everyday practicality in an emotionally powerful concept quite unlike any other car."

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is due for a theatrical release in the US on July 31, but the official trailer was revealed yesterday. And you can watch it right here.
