What's the news?
Subaru has gone and done what we've wanted it to do for a long time - make a properly potent BRZ.
The STI Performance Concept, shown at the New York Auto Show, is exactly that, sadly though it remains just a concept. The Japanese car maker is keen for its performance division, STI, to develop a more prominent role, having gone somewhat quiet over the last number of years.
The concept features a more aggressively styled front bumper along with wider side skirts and a rear end dominated by a carbon fibre wing that could easily rival that of the current Honda Civic Type R. Changes have also been made to the suspension and to the engine, said now to produce around 300hp.
Anything else?
Sadly, there is no official word on whether this will make it to production, although Subaru will undoubtedly be gauging public reaction to the car during the New York Auto Show.
