Volkswagen's new Jetta will come to Ireland in May 2011 and word is that it is going to be even bigger than the Renault Fluence, a car that has been stealing the headlines this year.
The range includes a pair of 1.4-litre TSI petrol engines, developing 122- and 160hp, along with two diesel engines in the 1.6-litre TDI 105hp and a 2.0-litre TDI developing 140hp. The 1.6-litre TDI unit will feature 'BlueMotion Technology' including stop-start and battery regeneration.
The new Jetta will go on sale with the 122hp 1.4-litre TSI Trendline model at its entry-point. Sources close to the brand reveal that the car will cost "less than €22,000" and will be available with Comfortline and Highline specifications too.
