Citroen teases Cactus M concept

Preview image hints surf theme for the Citroen Cactus M concept.

What's the news?

Citroen has teased the unveiling of its Cactus M concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show with a picture of a surfboard.

The text accompanying the image reads: 'The summer holidays may now be drawing to a close, but we've been preparing an exciting project...'

At the moment there isn't much information; the teaser image doesn't show anything of the car itself. Citroen has said that the concept will be 'bold and creative', influenced by the Citroen Mehari of 1968. Possible concept features could include a clip-on canvas roof, open load area and Airbump side protection as seen on the C4 Cactus. Chances are that it will also be able to carry a few surfboards.

Anything else?

An electric or hybrid drivetrain is a possibility; according to Autocar magazine Citroen has applied for a trademark on the 'e-Mehari' name. Full details will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 17th September.
