Hyundai N powers up for Frankfurt

Hyundai plans range of performance road-cars branded ‘N’.

What's the news?

Hyundai will show off its new performance brand, N, with a couple of exciting models at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

N for the road cars takes its inspiration from the company's prowess on the World Rally Championship stage, so it's only fitting that on the stand at Frankfurt will be the New Generation i20 WRC prototype, ahead of the competition vehicle's entry into the 2016 campaign.

The star will be the Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo concept, though, which both showcases the ultimate expression of what N could become, and also serves to show off the car that will be available digitally on the PS4 game Gran Turismo 6.

Alongside it will be the RM15 concept car and - most excitingly of all - this mid-engined 2.0-litre 300hp motor is said to 'suggest how the Hyundai N driver-focused technologies could come into production' and will 'undergo further developments to apply high-performance technology to Hyundai Motor cars in many exciting ways'. Yes, Hyundai - yes.

Anything else?

With Hyundai promising that N is designed to 'drive future performance-oriented and race-track-capable models forward and bring the most thrilling winding road fun to customers who truly love cars', it's worth getting over to Frankfurt to see these machines in the metal. The show runs from September 15-27, if you're interested.
