What's the news?

Mazda has a new concept car ready for the Tokyo Motor Show on 28th October. The theme of Mazda's stand is 'Accelerate toward our dreams', emphasizing the brand's approach to the joy of driving. With that in mind it has created the sports car concept; designed to 'condense the company's sports car history to as great a degree as possible'.

Demonstrating the company's history a 1967 Mazda Cosmo Sport 110S is part of the show line-up. The Cosmo was Mazda's first rotary-powered mass-production car, suggesting that the concept will feature a similar powerplant. It is possible that Mazda has plans for a rotary-powered big brother to the MX-5, possibly reviving the 'RX' series.

Anything else?

Joining the Cosmo in a special motorsport exhibition are two racing-specification MX-5s. Demonstrating the company's more practical side, the Koeru SUV crossover concept, first seen in Frankfurt, will be among the models on show. Mazda will also show its SKYACTIV technology and the company's latest safety developments will be on show at Smart Mobility City, a regular feature of the Tokyo show.
