Three Bargain Fast Estates

?Estate cars don’t have to be boring, or super expensive as these three super-fast estate cars show

2001 Audi RS4 Avant €18,250

We all know that Audi’s RS-range produces some super cars and the RS4 from the early part of the last decade was nothing short of astonishing at the time but it would also have been a car that was out of reach for most buyers because it cost close to six figures. Ten years on and this RS4 has covered 92,000 miles, but looks like it has been minded well by its two owners. This is just one of 400 that were made in right hand drive and it has extras like xenon lights and a 6-disc CD player. It is however, the 2.7-litre petrol engine that will excite though. Sure it will cost an arm and a leg to run, but this would be a marvellous car to own.

2002 BMW 530D M Sport Touring €8,745

?

We absolutely love this car. The 530D is a smashing car and that six-cylinder diesel engine is an absolute belter. Twin it with the classic E39 Touring body style and Ferrari-red paint and you have a really nice package. This one that we found in Meath is fully loaded too, with everything from full cream leather to climate and cruise control. The two owners have clocked up 116,000 miles but a car like this would be well able for it. Plus it is an automatic too, so it would be great for commuting. €8,745 gets you this and what a buy!

2006 Saab 9-5 Estate €12,950

Ok so it isn’t the fastest car here but it is a rapid car. Who know, if Saab don’t sort out their mess soon they might be resigned to history, but for now they still represent some of the most interesting left-field cars around and we are big fans of the 9-5. Sure, it isn’t the most modern-feeling car in this guise, but it is really solidly built and as an estate perhaps it is at its most useful. This turbocharged petrol version is pretty potent too and is nicely equipped too, with leather seats, a DVD player and a roof rack. All this for under €13,000 too.
