Aston Martin announces biturbo V12

Teaser video of c.600hp, 5.2-litre V12 released by Aston Martin.

What's the news?

A while back, Aston Martin announced it would be working with Mercedes-AMG on a raft of new engines for its forthcoming products. Well, er... this isn't one of them. In fact, the British luxury marque has decided to develop its latest V12 engine itself and the results sound spectacular.

Sound? Yes, Aston has given us a teaser video of what sort of noise the 5.2-litre, twin-turbocharged motor will make. Details are thin on the ground at the moment but the company did say that the new unit is 'likely to appear in the upcoming DB11' and that it should prove to be one of Aston's most powerful ever V12 engines with around 600hp - so pay due deference to the One-77 and Vulcan, which both kick out more oomph.

Anything else?

Until the DB11 is formally unveiled, which should happen in the next few months, take a listen to the stunning new motor right here.
