Volkswagen spruces up Touran with R-Line trim

Body styling addenda and interior updates for Volkswagen Touran R-Line.

What's the news?

Volkswagen is bringing sporty R-Line styling to a model that is anything but sporty - the Touran MPV. It comes as a series of packages and options, starting at €873.

That's for an exterior body kit including bespoke front and rear bumpers (the latter of these also gets a chrome insert), a different radiator grille, side skirts and 'R-Line' badging. Sadly, buyers have to pay €311 more for either the 17-inch 'Salvador' alloys or €843 for the signature R-Line wheels, 18-inch 'Marseille' rims.

Buyers can package interior and exterior R-Line updates together for €1,480. The interior upgrade includes Black Lead Grey 'decorative' inserts on the dash, console and front doors, alongside black roof lining and grey stitching on the aluminium-trimmed, R-Line-branded leather three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. Unique R-Line sill protectors complete the look.

No changes to the mechanicals are made so the 2.0-litre TDI 150 still does around 4.6 litres/100km (62.8mpg) and emits 117g/km CO2 as a six-speed manual.
