Mitsubishi's Geneva concepts

Mitsubishi to premiere new concepts at Geneva Motor Show.

What's the news?

Mitsubishi has released details of its planned line-up for the Geneva Motor Show, which commences on the 3rd of March. This includes the world debut for the L200 Geoseek and ASX Geoseek concepts.

Exterior

In an effort to convey the tough outdoor adventure type image of these models more effectively, Mitsubishi has garnished most of the body in pearl grey paint, and simultaneously sprayed the wheels, mirrors and other trim details in a lurid orange. The L200 pickup gains working lights and hand holds fitted to the roof rails, while the ASX (recently facelifted in the US), features LED fog lamps in place of the standard items. Both SUVs are kitted out with skid plates below the front bumper, along with a mesh grille and a roof basket for carrying as much tough outdoor adventure type gear as you can bring.

Interior

Both cabins have also been accented with orange detailing, which portrays a 'casual and sporty image akin to outdoor sporting accessories', no less. Of more practical use are functional covering materials, along with some nice suede-like trim detail on the centre panels.

Anything else?

Among a display numbering 13 vehicles in total, Mitsubishi will show a chassis model of the Outlander PHEV, with an informational theme intended to explain the fundamentals behind electric vehicles. Interestingly, the eX concept will make its European debut at the show. This compact SUV will demonstrate new developments including active safety technology, parking and motorway driving with autonomous assistance, plus a next- generation EV system with focus on an intelligent transmission system known as 'Twin Motor 4WD'. The existing safety-orientated MMC Dynamic Shield concept is utilised, with more focus on vehicle visibility to pedestrians.
