Lamborghini Miura anniversary exhibition

Display emphasises artistic influence in Lamborghini design.

What's the news?

The original bedroom poster car, the Miura, is 50 years old this year and to mark the occasion, Lamborghini has commissioned a new exhibit for its Sant'Agata museum. Entitled '' Velocità e Colore'' (or Speed and Colour to non-Italophiles), it consists of ten large paintings depicting various details of Lamborghinis past and present, from Miura to Aventador and many in between. The works are the fruits of local artist Alfonso Borghi's labour, and according to the blurb are ''distinguished by an artistic language that is informal and abstract''. Quite. In fairness to Lambo, they have produced no mean amount of stunners over the years, so you can allow them a small amount of self-appreciation. If I owned a Miura I'd probably spend so much time looking at it that I wouldn't have any hours left in the day to drive it...

The museum also holds other treasures for fans of the Raging Bull, with two floors of production and concept cars sure to provide enough brightly-painted stimulation for any enthusiast, among the other exhibits. There is also a four-day tour of some of Italy's finest countryside and driving roads for Miura owners in June, culminating in an audience with Gian Paolo Dallara, the Miura's designer, along with other events throughout the year. The exhibit itself opens on April 28th and runs until 30th June.
