Audi launches dedicated e-shop in Ireland

Bespoke online service a first for any manufacturer over here.

What's the news?

After market analysis, Audi has decided to launch a standalone website for accessories, making it the first manufacturer to do so on Irish shores. The aim for AudiShop.ie is to help streamline the ordering and purchasing process for the end user. Experience of trying to find accessories on regular manufacturer sites has led to customers giving feedback on ideas for improvement, and Audi Ireland are pleasantly surprised to have received such a large reaction from potential buyers. The site works by asking the customer to select their local dealer as a point of contact when ordering and paying for items. The dealer then receives the products and notifies the buyer. This is useful, as anyone who's ever tried to arrange a courier delivery during work hours will understand...

A quick browse of the site reveals it to be smooth and nicely laid out, with a few items catching the eye, including a little Audi Sport brake caliper keyring that would look right at home on the keys of my... Renault. The long-term intent for the site is to add functionality for booking services, repairs and more, with Audi Ireland hoping to roll these features out by the end of the year. With every other aspect of our lives going through non-stop evolution in terms of digital accessibility, it makes sense for car manufacturers and their dealers to follow Audi's lead and implement their own improvements to enhance the ownership experience.
