While there's nothing understated about the outgoing Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG's 463hp and high-revving V8 soundtrack, some thought it a little too understated in the looks department. Feast your eyes on the facelifted model. Not so domesticated now, is it?
Although details are limited at present, the new version of the AMG C-Class has a much more aggressive front end, with highly distinctive headlights. Less visible changes are expected to include the adoption of the latest AMG seven-speed gearbox and possible tweaks to the suspension for improved ride and handling.
Its civilised siblings are also getting revised changes to the interior, exterior and also under the new aluminium bonnet. The most notable improvements are at the rear and front of the car, with LED rear lights and the newly designed front headlights. The interior gets a new centre console, while the engines receive an impressive boost in output, yet with economy improvements of up to 31 percent across the board, with the petrol-powered C 350 BlueEfficiency boasting 306hp and an impressive 6.8 litres/100km (41.5mpg), and most of the diesel options grinding out approximately 4.7 litres/100km (60mpg).
These changes are following on from the 1,000,000th sale of the current Mercedes-Benz C-Class, with the non-AMG facelift model having already debuted at the Detroit Motor Show.
