Nissan reveals new NV300 van

New Nissan van will make its debut at the Champions League final in Milan.

What's the news?

Awww, referee. Surely that has to be a penalty! After all, yer man was clean through on goal, no offside and suddenly he was flattened by what seems to be a new Nissan van...

Well, we're pretty sure that won't happen at the Champions League final in Milan, but it will definitely be the duty of the new Nissan NV300 van to deliver the Champions League flag to Milan ahead of the big match. The Flag will take pride of place in the centre circle during the half-time break, witnessed first-hand by thousands of fans and millions of TV viewers worldwide.

The new NV300 will make its public debut at the match (yet again, car makers are moving away from big motor shows for their debuts...) and it's wearing Nissan's new Emotional Geometry styling language. As the name suggests, it will slot into the current Nissan range between the smaller NV200 and the bigger NV400 and basically replaces the old Primastar model.

Full details of the NV300, including performance, emissions and load-carrying ability, will be revealed at the Hanover Motor Show in September. In the meantime, one assumes that the flag won't tax the load space. Nissan has confirmed that the car will carry a five-year, 160,000km pan-European warranty though, fully transferable to subsequent owners.

Hang on, what's this? A note under the door of the San Siro stadium? "Sorry, we tried to deliver your Champions League flag but you were out..."

Oh dear.
