Renault sticks with Late Late for two more seasons

Renault continues sponsorship of world's longest running chat show.

What's the news?

Roll it there, Roisin. Or perhaps it should be roll it there, Renault, as the French car maker has signed up to sponsor the legendary Late Late Show for two more seasons.

The new sponsorship deal starts tonight, Friday the 2nd of September, as Ryan Tubridy introduces the 54th (!) season of the world's longest-running chat show. As always, it will be broadcast on RTE 1, as well as catch-up services RTE1 +1 and RTE Player.

In spite of the fractured media audience these days, the Late Late still gets around 570,000 viewers every week, with a peak of 1.5 million for the Late Late Toy Show.

Commenting on The Late Late Show sponsorship, Paddy Magee, Country Operations Manager, Renault Group Ireland said, "we're delighted to renew our sponsorship of RTE One's best known and much loved television show. Television plays an imperative role in our marketing communications strategy and we believe that after a hugely successful year of sales last year, sponsoring The Late Late Show is a great and, indeed, unique way to continue talking to our key audience."

Gerry McGuinness, TV Sponsorship Manager, said "the sponsorship of The Late Late Show is one of the most visible broadcast partnerships in Ireland and we are thrilled that Renault will continue to associate with the show. We are confident that Renault's engagement with the huge audience that enjoys the programme on Friday nights will continue to create increased awareness of their wide range of vehicles."

The sponsorship will primarily focus on the new Renault Megane.
