The President of the FIA (Federation Internationale d'Automobile), Jean Todt, will be visiting Ireland Wednesday, February 16 to speak at a press conference. He will officially launch a major new initiative towards the road safety of young Irish drivers.
The initiative in question aims to promote increased road safety and awareness to our younger drivers via the medium of motor sport.
This initiative will see Ireland taking full part in a series of global road safety initiatives that will form part of the FIA's commitment to the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety.
Also in attendance at the press conference will be Noel Brett, CEO of the Road Safety Authority, Alex Sinclair CEO of Motorsport Ireland, and Conor Faughnan Director of Policy at AA Ireland.
The FIA is the world governing body for motorsport, including the Formula 1 and World Rally championships.
